Frequently Asked Questions

How long is the mini skirt?

The default length is 14 inches, which lands at mid-thigh on most bodies. You can adjust the skirt length input to any value down to 12 inches or up to 17 or 18 inches if you want a longer version.

What is a contoured waistband?

A contoured waistband is curved rather than a straight rectangle, so it sits smoothly against the curve of your body above the hip. This pattern cuts the waistband as three shaped pieces (one front on the fold, two backs mirrored) that join at the side seams.

Why is the hem drawn with a kick at the side seams?

The side seams taper slightly from hip to hem, so if the hem allowance were a simple parallel offset the side edges would not line up when folded up. The mirrored kick at the side seams means the hem allowance folds flat against the panel above with no trimming.
