Is the Keepall 45 a carry-on?

The 45 fits most overhead bins but is not technically carry-on sized for all airlines. The Keepall 50 is sized specifically for carry-on use. The 45 is best as a personal item or underseat bag.

Should I add a shoulder strap to the Keepall 45?

Recommended. The 45 is heavy when full, and the Bandouliere-style adjustable shoulder strap (included as an option in the pattern) makes it much more comfortable to carry.
